Privacy policy

Your files stay on your device

RemoveMyEXIF processes supported files inside your browser. This policy separates the private files we never receive from the limited technical analytics used to operate and improve the service.

Effective date

Effective: July 26, 2026

Local file processing

Supported image, document, and audio inspection and metadata removal runs locally in your web browser using JavaScript.

Your files are not uploaded to our servers for processing. We do not receive file contents, filenames, or embedded metadata.

Technical analytics we collect

We collect limited first-party technical analytics to understand reliability, page usage, processing outcomes, abuse, bots, errors, and performance. Google Analytics is also enabled for website measurement.

First-party analytics may include a page path, event type, processing outcome, coarse file format and size category, timing, controlled error code, referrer domain, Cloudflare-inferred city, region, country and continent, derived browser, operating system, device and bot category, and random identifiers that exist only in memory while the page is open.

Analytics never includes the file itself, its filename, its contents, or the metadata found inside it.

IP addresses and coarse geography

Like any web service, Cloudflare receives an IP address when handling a request. The application may use it transiently for rate limiting and duplicate-request protection, but new first-party analytics records do not store the address.

Cloudflare infers coarse city, region, country and continent information at the network edge. We store those labels and codes for aggregate reporting without sending a stored IP address to a separate GeoIP service.

We do not store coordinates, postal or metro codes, timezone, or the GPS location contained in a file. Cloudflare's city and region values are approximate and may be incorrect.

Other data we omit

New first-party analytics records do not store raw user-agent strings, query-string values, full referrer URLs, precise coordinates, filenames, file contents, or metadata values. Browser, operating system, device class and bot status are derived before storage, and only the referrer domain is retained.

We do not collect account credentials, social profiles, or browsing activity outside RemoveMyEXIF.

How analytics is used

We use analytics to understand which tools are useful, how processing flows perform, where errors occur, which broad audiences we serve, and how automated traffic affects measurements.

We do not sell analytics data or use file information for advertising. Google processes Google Analytics data as a service provider under its own terms and privacy documentation.

Browser storage

RemoveMyEXIF uses local browser storage for theme preferences. Its first-party analytics identifiers are kept in page memory only and are not persisted by RemoveMyEXIF.

Google Analytics may use cookies or similar browser storage for website measurement.

You can clear this browser data at any time from your browser settings.

Services, security and retention

Cloudflare provides hosting, content delivery, security, coarse request geography, and first-party analytics storage. Google provides Google Analytics. Analytics is transmitted over HTTPS and access is restricted.

We retain technical analytics only for as long as reasonably needed for reliability, security, abuse prevention, product decisions, and trend reporting, then delete or aggregate records that are no longer needed.
