Photo metadata explained

What is EXIF data?

Photo metadata is hidden information saved inside image files such as HEIC, JPEG, TIFF, PNG, WebP, and AVIF. It can describe where a photo was taken, when it was captured, which camera or phone created it, and the software used to edit it.

Before cleanupEXIFStripped

No. EXIF is metadata, not the pixels themselves. RemoveMyEXIF creates a clean copy by removing the metadata block while preserving the photo's resolution, colour, and visible image quality.

Social media, marketplaces, client portals, and public websites can expose more than the visible photo. Removing EXIF metadata helps strip GPS location, camera details, timestamps, and other private context before the file leaves your device.
