Supported cleanup

The PowerPoint metadata this tool removes

The tool removes dedicated Office property parts and verifies that the presentation remains structurally present.

Core properties

Removes author, last editor, title, subject, keywords, revision, and stored document dates.

App and custom fields

Removes PowerPoint application details, company fields, template data, and custom properties.

Preview and timestamps

Removes the embedded preview and normalises internal ZIP modification times.

Presentation verification

Checks that the presentation part remains and removed property links do not return.

Know the boundary

Metadata removal is not document redaction

Presentations can expose private material in notes, comments, hidden slides, and off-canvas objects. Review those separately.

This tool does not remove

  • Speaker notes, comments, and review content
  • Hidden slides, off-slide objects, and embedded media
  • Macros, links, custom XML, or presentation content
  • Digital signatures, encryption, or password protection

Where it helps

When presentation metadata should stay backstage

A finished deck can still carry author, company, template, editing, preview, and application details inside its PPTX package.

Conference and public uploads

Clean supported metadata before posting slides to an event website, public archive, learning portal, or media page.

Client-ready deck delivery

Remove dedicated author, company, last-editor, template, custom-property, and stored date fields before external handover.

Reusing an internal deck

Strip package properties, the embedded preview, and internal ZIP timestamps before adapting a company presentation for another audience.

Common questions

Questions about removing PowerPoint metadata

Presentation metadata, speaker notes, and hidden slide content are separate privacy concerns. This tool targets only the first.

Does this remove speaker notes or comments from PowerPoint?

No. Speaker notes, comments, review content, and off-slide objects are presentation content. Inspect and remove them separately in PowerPoint before publishing the deck.

Will hidden slides or embedded media be removed?

No. Hidden slides, media, links, custom XML, and other presentation content stay outside the metadata-cleaning promise.

Can it clean PPT or macro-enabled PPTM files?

No. This release supports PPTX only. It does not convert legacy presentations or remove macros from macro-enabled files.
